GOVERNANCE & ADVISORY

Policy & Procedure Development

Practical policies that reflect your service, your people and regulatory expectations.

Regulatory Documentation

Policy Development

Bespoke, professionally written healthcare policies tailored to your service type, CQC registration category and regulatory obligations. Not templates, but policies that reflect how your service actually works.

Beyond Generic Templates

Policies That Reflect Your Service

High-quality, bespoke policies are a visible signal of a well-governed, professionally led service. They demonstrate to CQC inspectors, commissioners and staff that the organisation has thought carefully about how it operates, what its legal and regulatory obligations are, and how it expects those obligations to be met in practice.

AJG Advisory develops policies that are written for your specific service, not adapted from a generic template. Each policy is aligned to current legislation, CQC requirements, NICE guidance and sector best practice, and is written in a way that your staff can actually read, understand and use.

Whether you need a complete policy suite for a new registration, targeted policy updates or a comprehensive review of your existing documentation, AJG Advisory provides professionally written, CQC-ready policies that reflect the standards your organisation holds itself to.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it important to have bespoke policies rather than generic templates?

Generic policy templates are a common shortcut that creates significant risk. CQC inspectors are experienced at identifying policies that have not been tailored to the specific service, legal context and operational reality of a provider. Policies that do not reflect how the service actually works, that reference incorrect legislation or that have not been reviewed recently demonstrate poor governance. Bespoke policies that are owned, understood and used by staff are a mark of a well-governed service.

How frequently should policies be reviewed?

Policy review frequency should reflect the risk and regulatory context of each policy. Safeguarding, medication and infection control policies should typically be reviewed annually as a minimum, or sooner when legislation, guidance or CQC requirements change. All policies should have a named review owner and a clear review date. AJG Advisory can develop a policy review schedule as part of the policy development service.

Can you review and update our existing policy suite?

Yes. AJG Advisory provides policy review and updating as well as new policy development. This involves assessing existing policies against current regulatory requirements, legislation and best practice, identifying gaps or outdated content and producing a revised, current policy suite or targeted updates.

Do your policies cover the new CQC single assessment framework?

Yes. All policies developed by AJG Advisory are aligned to current CQC standards, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and relevant legislation and NICE guidance. The regulatory context is monitored closely to ensure all policies remain current.

Can you develop policies for a new provider preparing for CQC registration?

Yes. Policy development for new providers is one of the most common requests AJG Advisory receives. A comprehensive, CQC-compliant policy suite is an essential component of a successful registration application and initial inspection. AJG Advisory can develop a complete policy suite tailored to your service type and registration category.
